My life is black and white and so far, I like it

in a murakami mood

There's actually not much to be said. Going back to work feels good although believe or not, I felt weak while coming back home this evening. It was a true spring day and everyone was out on the street. As if seasons changed in a split of a... weekend?

I'm not going over the moon with excitement now for future events. I always knew it's best to keep that poise and be prepared for the unexpected. I enjoy present time since that's actually what we can do best.

I had a good morning, perfect classical notes, in a murakami mood. I love waking up slowly, drinking coffee in that deep morning silence. It's also the moment of the day when my mind is still calm. Or maybe I created that habit for it. Whatever it is, it feels nice.

new furniture for the kitchen in on the floor, waiting to be installed. soon, but let's leave that for some other time.

Bad luck or whatever

I don't really feel like writing about recent events, but I have to. We had to cancel the fair, we upset people and there was barely any room for us to look at what we have missed. At the end of the day, you can blame other people, you can think this field is not getting enough support, but you know it is all about the people (the right or the wrong ones) so you are also left with another choice: get better.

You assume responsibility for something you had nothing to do with, you say nothing even though you are bound to offer explanation and you let others throw mud at you. Beyond everything that happened, you stick to one principle: you treat respectfully even those who are being verbally aggressive. You just stay true to yourself and bear the guilt for the unexpected.

Later after the bad news, I also got into emergency room at the hospital. Romanian hospitals, unless they're private, can get you very depressed and when you have to run tests and wait a thousand years in between, you really need to be with someone dear next to you. after one hospital, they rushed me to the same evening at another hospital and they only supposed I can wait and see if my state isn't getting worse. test results due in 7 days instead of 3 because their testing kit has not yet arrived in Romania. my point exactly. it's been 5 days since I'm staying indoors and it's not fun. I get to go out tomorrow and I can't wait to see a dozen of wonderful friends whom I terribly missed.

so as you can see, this week has been not that great. first, the fair being cancelled and later on the same day, the hospital trip. but we can only hope for better times and know that in times when things seem to fail you see who's actually willing to still have trust in you.

I saw that spring's asking for its rights. I hope it's gonna be sunny tomorrow as well. fingers crossed!

As you can very well see...

I have been posting once a week? Well, that's a perfect example of what not to do to your blog. I have been eating every morning, but the same amount of yogurt with the same type of cereals. So it's definitely redundant to post a photo with my breakfast now.

The fair approaching and people getting more and more excited about it, the work just piled up. I have been so glad to see how big the enthousiasm was. I am convinced this second edition will be amazing. Everything just fits into place and things are easily done when you work with the right persons. When someone saves the day with a great event poster, the other one comes up with the list and the PR successfully spreads the news, things can only be perfect.

Meanwhile, the every day job came with its own rewards which basically were opportunities to learn more things although this involves more work. Nothing one cannot survive, nevertheless.

I'm now struggling with a cold after 9 days of new treatment of antibiotics which apparently were not enough. I mean, aren't these supposed to make your body virus proof? I guess not. I am waiting for spring because this just seemed the longest winter ever. I do remember warm 18 degrees days in March. Now I just wonder were are those.

We'll also be having raw goodies at the fair and I'm extremely excited about those and eager to find out tricks and recipes.

Wish you all a great weekend and I hope to post new breakfasts soon!

from here.

... it's been hectic around here. I don't think I remember last time I was so tired. The weekend now approaching makes me wanna quit to see the 2 concerts I had in my mind for this weekend. I will nevertheless visit Atelierul mecanic and taste the wonderful tarts which Agnes makes. I'm having simple coffee now, chewing on just a few minutes before getting dressed for work.

Our lists for the food fair are now closed and we are 13 (lucky number!) in the end. Great people, great food bloggers and, without a doubt, great cooks. I'm visiting Bruxelles and Antwerp at the end of March so if any of you has any tips on good places to eat or just visit or try something special there, I'd be grateful. All in all, I am sure it's going great.

Besides the pills I'm due to take because of some health issues, I guess this neverending winter tires me even more. The minute you think spring is here, you get only more snow. This reminds me of a public sign, half in snow, which said: "Whoever is praying for more snow, please stop".
The amount of work this week seemed to double and so I just wish for a quiet Friday evening. I just realized I forgot to mention that last weekend I bought the new kitchen! There are still some things I have to buy, but what was more important has been bought. New oven probably in April since Bruxelles trip is not going to pay for itself.

Which reminds me that it's high time I left for work. Wish you all a warm weekend!
